Public Relations and Marketing Intern

Part-Time, Remote  | Undergraduate students seeking internship hours or recent graduates

Salary:

$14-16/hour (Minimum of 15 hours/week)

Position Growth Track:

This is a part-time internship that has potential to develop into a full-time role based on performance. 

Duties:

  • Work with the Director of PR to assist with pitch creation, news release distribution, podcast pitching, and follow-ups.

  • Assist in creating and compiling assets for media kits (e.g. bios, fact sheets, images, etc.)

  • Monitor sources like Qwoted, HARO, SOS, and Podmatch, and flag relevant opportunities for clients.

  • Review articles and assist in creating client coverage reports; coordinate corrections with media as needed.

  • Compile editorial calendars and flag relevant opportunities for clients.

  • Coordinate with media contacts and clients to help answer questions and support interview scheduling.

  • Research ideas for unique angles and content for client marketing and PR campaigns.

  • Work with Director of Digital Marketing to develop content for clients in various industries.

  • Assist with building client content calendars for various channels including, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Google Business.

  • Support community management through comment and DM monitoring.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest digital technologies, along with social media trends, influencers, and topics. Share findings with the team.

  • Assist the Director of Operations and all team members with account management, meeting scheduling, and general administrative support.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Motivated to develop new skills in a collaborative and encouraging environment, graciously receiving (and providing!) feedback

  • Experienced with prevalent social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Google Business Profile

  • Familiar with Google Workspace (email, calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meetings, etc.), or similar

  • Strong writing abilities for both short and long-form content

  • Comfortable with writing in AP Style 

  • Enjoys supporting clients across a broad variety of industries and is adept at creating content for multiple clients and varying voices and audiences

  • Clear and professional communication, both written and spoken

  • Excellent judgment and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently

  • Able to effectively manage time and to meet deadlines

  • Committed to providing high-level customer service and supporting team members with a servant leadership approach

  • Close (borderline fanatical) attention to detail

  • Maintains respect for client and company confidentiality

  • Willing to learn: 

    • Slack (team communication)

    • ClickUp (project management)

    • Zoom (client calls)

    • Sideline (office VoIP phone line)

    • Canva (client/company design files)

    • Loom (video screen sharing / team and client communication)

    • Flodesk (email marketing)

    • ChatGPT, Claude and other AI tools

Additional Requirements:  

  • Role may occasionally require in-person meetings, events, or photo shoots. 

  • Team and client meetings take place during business hours 9am-5pm Monday-Friday and are typically virtual meetings. While internship work (e.g. writing and research) may often be completed at your convenience, we do need an intern who has daytime availability and flexibility for conversations and collaboration.
